28 August 2018 In the income tax return of the deceased assessee. The itr should be filed by representative assessee

28 August 2018 but some expert says it will shown in Wifes Return as it received in the hands of wife and after the death of Employee the employee has not any interest left on anything received after death

28 August 2018 First, this is not an income of the wife. This pertains to that of the deceased assessee who is no more. If he were alive, on account of him being a Govt employee , death gratuity is exempt fully. Therefore, this is not taxable in the hands of his wife
