26 June 2012 I filed my ITR I offline for FY 2009-10 AY 10-11 and also received refund of extra tax deducted

Later I filed ITR I for FY 10-11 AY 11-12 online and the tax that was to be refunded was deducted on the pretext of some unknown demand.

No help was provided online and on visit to ITO I was informed that the demand was a system error and no such demand exist under my PAN

But, I requested the ITO to arrange refund of such wrong demand and over 6 months of elapsed nothing is been confirmed to me. ITO said he has processed the case and the refund shall be made at an early date

I need to the clarified on :
1. Is there any process to know the exact status of such demand cancellation
2. Is the process adapted by me was correct
3. Is there any other process to get remedy and refund in such a case, all the calculations made by me and ITD are same except the demand that they have wrongly shown
