pls tell me whether TCS would be collected on tea leaves ?

TCS is not applicable on tea leaves. It is applicable only on the following :
1. Alcoholic Liquor for human consumption
2. Timber obtained Under Forest Lease
3. Timber obtained by any other mode
4. Tendu Leaves
5. Other Forest Produce (not agricultural produce)
6. Scrap

Agreed with Experts, in this case TCS is not applicable.
Generally, the seller has to collect tax (TCS) from the payer who has purchased the following items :
•Alcoholic liquor for human consumption
•Tendu leaves
•Timber obtained under a forest lease
•Timber obtained by any mode other than under a forest lease
•Any other forest produce not being timber or tendu leaves (not being agriculture produce)
•Scrap
•Parking lot
•Toll plaza
•Mining and quarrying
