05 November 2012 How to perform audit of the companies by using their tally software ??
Most of the times- provisions , service tax , vat , tds , excise duty , custom duty are some of the topics in which very much problem is arising while auditing.
May be my problem is arising due to my non-commerce stream but after ca-ipcc most of the concepts are now clear to me.
i am new in articleship and there is no senior with me while auditing so i have to perform audit on my own ....
please sir help me ...................

18 November 2012 Tally ERP is a software and the accounts can be written by using the same it is not for auditing. Yes you can audit the accounts by using it. As regards various taxes are concern it is very easy. First verify the sales and then you add or deduct the taxes and see the total of the respective ledger. For example if the sales is accounted for on the basis of % of VAT then it is very easy say Sales of 10% VAT is 5000000/-, and 7% VAT is 3000000/- then the total of VAT credit should be 8,21,000/-. If your total comes to the same then you have to see the VAT adjustment etc.
