Surrendering iec number + winding up of pvt ltd

Hello Sir,
We have formed a Pvt Ltd company in Jan 2012 and in the company name we have got a Import Export Code Number in Apr 2012. Till now there is no activity and very few bank transactions only.
We decided to shutdown the company. Kindly explain the procedures.

i) For surrendering the IE Code, you may send the original certificate by registered post along with a covering letter to the Joint Director General of foreign trade of your region.
