Subsidized food provided to employees

May I know whether subsidized food provided by the employer to the employees in the canteen falls under GST ambit. Also whether canteen expenses received from the employees comes under GST.

Yes it is chargeable under the GST but just now we have received the draft proposal wherein if it is obligation on the part of the employer then the same will not be chargeable under GST. But it is proposal only, and all is depend upon council. So better to pay GST right now and will see this issue after 20th July 2018.

How the GST will be levied on this, is it on reverse charge........

No it will not be on RCM basis but on forward charge basis . . .
