Hello Experts!
Company want to transfer raw material from branch which is in non - excise zone (Surat)to Factory (Ahmedabad)which is in excise zone (we have certificate of excise) . Both are in Gujarat.Let me know excise duty is applicable when we transfer goods from Surat to Ahmedabad and also let me know Form F will required if stock is transfer within state.Plz help.

for excise, please clarify if this Raw material is manufactured in Surat premises and what kind of excise exemption is available to the unit.
For VAT, form F shall not b required. U may use form 402 for movement within the state.

Raw material not manufactured in Surat it was just imported from China. Now we want to use this material at Ahmedabad for manufacturing.At Surat is only trading unit.

Excise duty is levied on manufacture. If you have imported goods at your trading unit and you transfer the same goods to another unit, there is no excise duty payable.
Further, if the Surat unit has FSD / importer registration, it can transfer the CVD / SAD (customs duties) paid at the time of import of such goods.
