25 August 2008 once when it is decided that profit/gains will be treated as business income can it be said that day trading profit is speculative business profit and profit from delivery of shares is non-speculative profit or entire profit/gains is speculative profit please some one answer as soon as possible

25 August 2008 Yes, profit from a business of shares may be classified as Speculative and Non-speculative Profit/loss.

Profit from delivery transactions and derivative trades is Non-speculative while profit or loss from jobbing is speculative in nature.
