can a director of any public ltd co. take more than one sitting fees for having a board meeting and a commitee meetings held on the same day?

It is subject to the articles of the company, Companies Act do not object.
Even though the day of the meeting is same, there are two meetings with different or same Agenda for which Director should be entitled to sitting fees separately

As per Companies Act provision Director is entitled to get sitting fee for each and every meeting.
