25 July 2025 Here's a simple format of an **Indemnity Bond** for collecting Income Tax Refund cheque by an individual who does not maintain books of accounts. Also, I'll clarify about stamp paper.

### Simple Indemnity Bond Format (for Income Tax Refund Cheque Collection)

---

**INDEMNITY BOND**

I, **\[Full Name of Individual]**, son/daughter of **\[Father’s/Husband’s Name]**, residing at **\[Full Address]**, hereby declare and undertake as under:

1. That I am entitled to receive Income Tax Refund amounting to **Rs. \[Amount]** from the Income Tax Department for the Assessment Year **\[Year]**.

2. That I have not maintained formal books of accounts for the said financial year.

3. That I hereby indemnify and hold harmless the Income Tax Department, its officers, and the bank from any loss, claim, damage, or liability whatsoever arising out of or in connection with the release of the Income Tax Refund cheque to me or to any person authorized by me.

4. I undertake to refund the entire amount along with any interest or penalty imposed by the Income Tax Department in case of any dispute arising out of the release of the refund.

5. This indemnity is given to enable the Income Tax Department and the bank to release the refund cheque in my favour without any further liability.

Signed this day **\[Date]** at **\[Place]**.

**Signature:** \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_

### Regarding Stamp Paper:

* Generally, **indemnity bonds related to Income Tax Refund** are executed on **non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 100/-** (or as applicable as per state laws).
* Stamp duty amount may vary depending on the state.
* It is **recommended to execute on stamp paper to ensure enforceability**.
* Some Income Tax Authorities may accept indemnity even on plain paper with signatures, but **using stamp paper is safer**.

---

If you want, I can provide a ready-to-use Word document version of this format — just let me know!
