I bought 200 shares of SBI @268.80 , out of that 100 shares were payout short for which i got the price 275.50 back to my account. Should i pay short term tax for this gain?

This is speculative income. Since you have not entered in agreement with any body for buying or selling of equity nor have paid any STT for that transaction. Also no contract note is issued for said transaction.
