Is there IPO for closely held comapnies?

If yes, how the sale of shares (bought during IPO) would happen, if there is no stock exchages.

03 June 2011 There is no IPO for closely held companies.If a closely held company wants to raise money from public then first it has to get converted into public company and it has to get listed in a recognised stock exchange.
