01 April 2010 what is equity share? what is the specific meaning of eqity and why do people say shareholder fund is also known as equity share? please help me about that

01 April 2010 In simple words, Like in a small business owner invest amount as capital..in the same way in a company no. of people invest in the company just like the owner does. In return the company issues them acknowledgement for the funds given by them, this acknowledgement is termed as Shares or Equity Shares. So shareholders fund is same as equity shareholders fund.
However, technically, there are many different type of shares based on their different terms and characterstics.
