In case of a private limited companies, can share application money be more than the authorised share capital?

yes. Share application money can be more than authorized share capital. But before allotment, make it sure that authorized capital is increased so that Authorized capital is >= Shares allotted.

Share application money may be more than the authorised share capital in case of share applciaton money received for shares to be issued at preimum.
