Service tax on royalty

On royalty the total service tax is 12.36% but since now the it can be paid in 2 parts
1. R&D Cess - 5% on which no secondary and higher education cess.
2. Other the balance 7% of service tax
The question is that whether on this balance 7% of service tax we need to pay the secondary and higher education cess ??

27 November 2012 I think your calculation is not proper. You first required to compute service tax @ 12.36% on royalty amount and then take credit @ 5% regarding R&D cess. Make the payment of rest
