14 April 2012 My freind provide coaching classes to commerce (B-com.) students.
is it compulsory to pay service tax on this service? pls reply...
he is running such classes at his home.

15 April 2012 If he coaching classess gross receipt in particular year cross Rs. 900000 then he has to go for registration

It doesn't Matter From where he is providing the service

16 April 2012 If the turnover is above 10 lakhs then he has to collect and pay service tax on coaching classes
