14 April 2016 friends i need help to save tax for my father. my father got pension in fy 15-16 of rs1.70 lac and FD interest got rs around of rs 3 lac. so i think he got taxable income. but as he staying separate so he has monthly and my mother hospital expenses coz my mother have heart disease so in fy 15-16 father made above rs 1 lac hospital expenses. can my father get hospital expenses ( admitted expenses and monthly expenses ) deduction ? and for fy 16-17 can i get some idea to save tax on pension and FD ? if dnt mind anyone can email me ysamit.das @ gmail.com

14 April 2016 Father has calculate his income on the basis of pension and interest income. for other expense monthly they don't take as expense while calculation income tax and also sec 80DDB is for neurological disease which is specify under act. which is also non deductible.so your father has to pay tax and file his income tax return. (any other deduction in chapter VIA need to consider when you calculate income tax)
For future savings you can invest in PPF,NSC or other investment which is not based on age limit...!!!
