Self study for ca final

18 January 2015 Hello Professional Friends,
Just wanted to know is self study advisable for CA finals ? I do not have time for coaching as I have work commitments and it becomes very hectic to attend coaching. I can buy books for self study with the help of your suggestions. Please give your opinions on this.

18 January 2015 Self study is possible eventhough it takes more time than with coaching. Off late, we find people scarcely going for self study.

Taking too many books is not all that a good idea. Take the institute's text & practice material as the basic materia and one good text book pe paper as reference which should be ideal

18 January 2015 Why not? You can. I had never gone for any coaching. But at least 4 or 5 months continuous study needed to cover the syllabus. For problem papers one additional material should refer in order to understand the concepts. But for exam purpose ICAI materials should thoroughly practice. For theory papers if you have time you can refer additional materials otherwise ICAI materials are enough. I studied only ICAI modules. That is enough to score 50+ in theories. I would like to say one important thing that what ever we studied , our presentation in 3 hours is the deciding factor. So plan accordingly.
