06 August 2010 Can any one tell me the difference between QIP (Qualified Institutional Placement) and Preferential Allotment under SEBI Guidelines as far as raising of fund in a Listed Company is concerned?

06 August 2010 Both are speedy method of raising fund by a listed company. it doesnt require any pre issue filing to sebi. In QIP securities are issued to QIB only, who are not promoters or relatives of promoters whereas in Prefrential allotment securities are issued to promoters, their relatives and associates.
