16 December 2015 Dear seniors,
My client paid the medical policy premium Rs. 17000 and has also incurred exp. In medical check up, blood test, doctor fees, however he has documentary proof of these exp. Plz.. let me know weather my client is entitled to avail the benefit of these exp. Or not As he is holding bill for the same exp. Or only 17000 will be allowed as deduction u/s 80D,

17 December 2015 for the premium paid deduction is restricted to Rs.15000/- only.
your client can take deduction of rs.15000/- out of Rs.17000/-.

If yourclient is senior citizen then limit get enhanced to Rs. 20000/-.

Rs.5000/- deduction is only on medical check up.

18 December 2015 Mr. Singhal many thanx for your valuable reply, sir in my openion section 80D benefit for FY is 25000/- also clarify weather blood test, doctor fees can cover the medical checkup or not however my client is not senior citizen.....
