Respected Sir/Madam,
I acknowledge receipt of notice dated ____ issued u/s 274A r/w 270A.
I wish to submit that the alleged under-reported income pertains to ______ (mention item).
The difference arose due to _______ (explain in simple facts).
There was no intention to conceal or misreport income. The information was fully available in ______ (ITR/AIS/books).
Therefore, penalty u/s 270A(1) does not arise.
Even otherwise, as per Section 273B, penalty shall not be imposed where there is reasonable cause.
Hence, I request dropping of penalty proceedings.
