If MD's appointment escaped shareholder's approval in AGM, then what to do?

then it is regardede as no appointment or re appoint were made and the board can fill the vaccancy in the next meeting.

Board has already re-appointed him. so can the shareholder's approval be taken in the next AGM since forthcoming AGM is missed
