14 April 2016 Dear Experts,
I have paid Rs. 52000 from my saving a/c for medical policy two policy Rs. 26000, 26000 (husband & wife) plz tell me how much deduction i am eligible to avail weather 25000 or 50000 or full 52000

14 April 2016 if both have their separate income then both can claim Rs. 25000/- each as deduction u/s 80D.

14 April 2016 No only payers can claim deduction but somehow if paid by cash then its non decidable so then claimable. its better to pay by different person to claim as deduction.

14 April 2016 Premium was paid from husband's saving
A/c however the wife income is below the
exemption Limit. But husband income is
above exemption limit in this case can husband avail the deduction of his wife.

14 April 2016 No.you can not take deduction due to 1. she has not paid any amount 2. she is individually creating her sources of income.

14 April 2016 If spouse is house wife she is not having any income then husband can claim deduction or not...

14 April 2016 No only Rs. 25000/- will be eligible for Policy covered in the name of self, spouse and dependent children. if you pay for your father-mother then additional deduction is possible.
