Same case here...our employer considers the basic amount.

@ CA Saloni, : any specific reason put forth by employer for considering basic amount and disregarding the service tax etc.?

Few of the under knowledged, especially those who have the tendency to think by putting themselves into the shoes of others rather than their own, do think that only basic amount be permitted. But the fact is whatever goes out of the pocket of the investor qualifies for the deduction u/s 80C
