Ques: Payments are made to an agency for printing/making as well as putting up of the glow signs/hoardings displayig the company's name.
Should TDS be deducted @ 2 or 1%.
Does it make a difference if such boards are put inside the companies office only.
PLs support ur ans with relevant sections/circulars/judgement.

AS PER SECTION 194C THE TDS @ 1% WILL BE DEDUCTED ON WORKS SPECIFIED-ADVERTISING,BROADCASTING AND TELECASTING, CARRIAGE ETC BUT IT DOES NOT INCLUDE THE ABOVE SO TDS @ 2% SHALL BE DEDUCTED.

doesn't putting up companies name means that it is advertising.. Pls can i have a more detailed answer as the word advertisement is quite broad...
