17 January 2013 Lease agreement, duly executed and registered in India, for leasing of office premises by Indian resident, with company Registered abroad and having business address in India. is tds applicable if a) rent received in rupees from the co or from ant one on behalf of the co b) rent received in dollars from abroad from director's personnel a/c.

18 January 2013 Yes, in both cases TDS u/s 194I applicable whether rent received in Indian Rupees or foreign currency. TDS is to be deducted by foreign company on payment of rent U/s 194I.

It is immaterial whether the rent paid from company or personal account of director.

If one is receiving the rent than how is he supposed to deduct the tds on it, and how he can deduct the tds on the money he is receiving?
