If an assessee who is obligated to file return u/s 139(1) does not file return within due date and files return after the due date of notice u/s 142(1). Is the return invalid ? Pl elaborate.

The return will not be invalid but will be a belated return

IT IS VALID RETURN BUT BELATED RETURN.IF THERE IS ANY LOSS THEN IT WILL NOT BE CARRY FORWARD.
