why 2 weeks high & low & 26 weeks high & low is computed. Which regulation provides this? can anybody plz let me know

2 weeks high & low & 26 weeks high & low is required to be computed for different requirements in SEBI LAWS.
Example:
1) Guidelines for Preferential issue of shares.
2) Delisting of shares
Such an average is taken so that all highs and lows are considered before arriving at a particular value for the shares.
