07 August 2007 can an educational institution like school can be registered under the companies act, 1956;

what are all the formalities?

pls explain.....

08 August 2007 As per my opinion,

It can be registered under Companies Act, 1956.

1. As an association not for Profit U/s.25
2. As a private company/ Public company

09 August 2007 An educational institution may not be a "Non-Profitable institution" ...specially now a days...

So if the idea is profit ..go for a pvt ltd company..

If the idea is a Non-Profit making entity...it may be registered as Society under Societies Registration Act 1860 or a company u/s25 of companies act, 1956
