Hi Experts,
One employee of my client has the following salary Breakup
Basic Salary 6600 and HRA 400.
But PF department feels as only due to avoid PF contribution we have designed the breakup. How can we convince them please advice

This combination of HRA is really rare as compare to basis its approx. 7% .It would be better if you can show it as conveyance.
It looks like that the basic was kept above exemption limit to avoid PF.
On the other hand there is no regulation about %age of HRA on basic. You can say that company is paying fix amount for there house rent as additional facilities. The Rent may vary from place to place.
