11 August 2017 what is the sac code for JOBWORK registration under gst in CBEC and many other sites display chapter heading starting with "99" but when enter the same at the time of registration site displayed no result found which code use for registration ?

11 August 2017 then what is the SAC for job work ? weather it is business auxillary or business support service ?

22 July 2025 For Job Work under GST:

The SAC code you should use is 998719 — which corresponds to Business Support Services.

Notes:

The GST registration portal (CBIC site) initially showed old service tax SAC codes (starting with 99) which caused confusion.

Job Work is generally classified under Business Support Services (SAC 998719) and not Business Auxiliary Services.

If the site doesn’t accept codes starting with “99,” try searching under the available list or select the closest matching SAC code mentioned above.
