17 August 2017 we are filling IT return for the assent year 2015-16 on 22-08-2016 ie belated return... and this return was defective us 139(9) after final remainder this was invalid... my question is can we revised the above return...(because this was a refund return.. )

17 August 2017 Legally a Big NO. you can't file revised return if the original return was not filed on or before due date.
Defective return can be corrected but subject to the time specified.
Still you can try a hit, if processed by CPC, you will get the refund.

17 August 2017 a am tried for revised return... it says invalid ack no...(ack of original return)

15 October 2021 You could have processed it under sec. 119(2b); rather than u/s. 139(4)...
