A taxpayer filed their ITR-2 under the new tax regime, missing out on deductions like HRA and medical expenses for senior parents. Although they received no demand or refund, they now wish to claim these deductions. It's confirmed that once the new regime is selected, it cannot be changed in a revised return, and these specific deductions are only available under the old regime. The advice is to check for any deductions missed that *are* eligible under the new regime and file a revised return if applicable.

Once chosen New regime, he cannot change to old regime in revised return. Moreover these exemptions are available only in Old regime, not eligible in New Regime.
