i want to do my return file for assessment year 10-11 but i want toknow that after 31st march can i file with tax payment my tax liabilities approximet Rs 7500 so pls guide me

If you have already paid tax k, if not then need to add interest for that and pay the tax..You can file the return up to 31 mar 2012.. 2 py years returns can be file up to 31 march 2012..That means ay 2010-11 and ay 2011-12 can file still march 31 2012..

Return for Ay 10-11 can be filed upto 31st March, 2012 after paying your tax liabilities and interest if any. Further you should be prepared that the department may impose a penalty of upto Rs 5000 for filing return after the end of the assessment year.

Penalty will not be there,it can be impose but not mandatory...One return can be file 2 years...

This is the maximum amount of penalty the department can impose. But before imposing the penalty, department will give you a notice to explain your case.
