22 December 2011 Sir I have filed my return .Intimation u/s 143(1) shows a demand of tax amt whereas as per e-return submitted refund order is due in respect to excess TDS.I am a govt employee & difference is due to status of booking being shown as P .What to do now???

22 December 2011 Check 26 AS from income tax site and make rectification u/s 154

23 December 2011 if u have filed return online than rectification can be filed online.

23 December 2011 Dear Experts, Please read the full question.

In form 26AS Booking Status is showing P, "P" means Provisional- Only for TDS/TCS affected by Government deductors. Provisional tax credit is effected on the basis of TDS/TCS statements filed only. On verification of the payment details by the Pay & Accounts Officer (PAO), status will change to Final (F).

So no need to worry Check Form 26AS and File the rectification U/S 154 and You can talk to your employer also about it.If you have the TDS certificate than no need to worry about Booking status.
