27 July 2012 If I want to reset password of an assessee whose left his previous C.A. and came to me for getting efiled his Income Tax return...hw can I do it....bcoz I dnt have any of the information required by the forgot password utility on Incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in?

27 July 2012 Step -1 Click on forget password Link , fill your Pan on next screen and click ok button.

Step -2 on Next screen Select your Option from three options.

Please select one of the 3 options :
Enter Secret question answer
Enter E-filing Acknowledgement No.and Bank Account No.as mentioned in E-Return of AY11-12
Enter PAN details

2.1. First option is answer secret question

as it was done in old system also .Under this option you can select new password yourself on the same screen .

2.2 Second Option is to provide E filing acknowledgement number along with last six digits of your bank account number. This option will be shown only if assessee has filed the online return .Under this option you can select new password yourself on the same screen .

3.3 .Third option you have to provide pan holder details as per pan data base.

Name as per pan data base (first name , middle name,surname)
Date of birth/Incorporation
Father name (first name.,,middle name , surname applicable in case of individual only)

Under this option you can not select new password on the same screen .System will reset password and send mail to registered email addreSS

27 July 2012 but d email id given is of that C.A. and the answer to d question is also set by him...and the last one, .i.e, eliling acknowl. no. and bank a/c no.. my assessee did not give any bank a/c last year to him...

27 July 2012 you can send one mail to ask@incometaxindia.gov.in. and give all details of cleint name, address, PAN, DOB) drop mail by reasons for reset . definatilly they they reply you shortly
