09 September 2012 Hi All,
Please advise my uncle (A govt servant) has received arrears of Rs. 275,000/-in FY 12-13 (Further, his salary income will be Rs. 220000/- for FY 12-13)for years from 1997 to 2005. He doesn't have records for these years and he has not filed income tax returns for these years. How to claim relief u/s. 89

09 September 2012 yes. infact the relief shall be calculated by the employer and your uncle not hav to worry for computation. he should ask form 16 and 12BA from his employer.
