Rejection of Rectification Return/Request

16 February 2011 Dear Professionals

Pls guide in the following matter:

An assessee had failed to mention the details of advance tax paid by him in the Income Tax return filed for the assessment year 2010-11.

Upon receipt of CPC order, the assessee filed online Rectification return. However, the request is rejected by the Department.

Pls guide what should be done by the assessee on rejection of rectification request by the Department.

16 February 2011 in my view its an error only so AO will allow credit of tax paid on production of evidence
