whether the service tax registration required to the transporter of goods by road, where the service receiver is liable to pay service tax?

21 November 2012 No the transporter of goods by road is not required to obtain STax Registration.

But he should clearly mention PERSON LIABLE FOR PAYING SERVICE TAX WHETHER CONSIGNOR OR CONSIGNEE in Consignment note.
