An individual has registered himself for service tax in his individual name, for service tax on rent from commercial property.
He has subsequently started a professional firm as a sole proprietorship,the services in which firm are also subject to service tax.
Query:
Can he use the service tax registration number taken for rental from commercial property, for service tax chargeable on professional services?
Or does he have to obtain fresh registration for other professional services?

He can use same ST registration no. But he need to amend his ST-2
