Respected sir,
Please guide me on following issue.
My mother collecting postal RD from 2002 to till now
Every month some amount was deducted from her income as TDS.
She haven't filled income tax return ant time from 2002.
i want to know that
Can income tax department of India return the deducted TDS from 2002.
if yes what will be procedure for that.

Hi,
To claim TDS, which was deducted from the income of your mother, you have to file return...there is no other way to claim the same...so there is no option infront of you...u can file return for A.Y: 2011-12 till 31/03/2013 to claim TDS Deducted from your mother's income.

For claiming the Refund from Income Tax Department
1) Whether to file the return of Income before I.T. Department?
2) If so, for how many years?
The Answer for Q.No. 1 is YES you have to file the Return of Income before the Income Tax Department.
for Q. no. 2 is Refund can be admitted for only Two Assessment years.
So You can claim refund for the A.Y. 2012-13, AND 2011-12
Refund can be issued with the sanction of COMMISSIONER for A.Y. 2011-12.
