31 March 2025 Starting from April 1, 2025, changes to partnership deeds will indeed be compulsory, aligning with new tax regulations for partnership firms and Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs).

Stamp Paper Requirements for Partnership Deeds

The amount of stamp paper required for a partnership deed varies significantly based on the state in which the partnership is registered. Here are some key points regarding stamp duty for partnership deeds:

Minimum Stamp Duty: The minimum stamp duty for a partnership deed is generally around ₹200, but this can increase depending on the state. For example:

In Delhi, the minimum is ₹200.

In Mumbai, it is ₹500.

In Bengaluru, it is ₹500 if the capital exceeds ₹500.

In Kolkata, it also requires ₹500.

In Gujarat, the stamp duty is 1% of the partnership capital, capped at ₹10,000.

Affidavit Requirement: Each partner must submit an affidavit on stamp paper of ₹20/50, indicating their intention to enter into a partnership.
