REGARDING ITR FILING QUESTION

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
If you provide accounting services to multiple shops and receive monthly cash payments, you should declare this income under 'Profits and Gains from Business or Profession' (PGBP) in your Income Tax Return. For most cases, ITR-4 using Section 44ADA is suitable, where you declare at least 50% of your gross cash receipts as profit. Alternatively, if you wish to deduct actual business expenses, you can opt for ITR-3.

31 July 2026 I do accounting work for 3 shops. I prepare balance sheets, feed sales and purchase entries, calculate GST and tax, and forward the details to the CA for further processing and return filing. I receive payment for this work every month in cash. No TDS is deducted. Where should I show this income in my Income Tax Return?

01 August 2026 Head of Income: Profits and Gains from Business or Profession (PGBP).

Best Form & Provision: ITR-4 under Section 44ADA (declare at least 50% of gross cash receipts as profit).

Alternative: ITR-3 if you want to deduct actual business expenses.
