Regarding filling of Revised Return of Income Tax

08 July 2010 Dear Sir,

I want to know that i have filled my income tax return of A.y 2009-10 online but on viewing tax statement on income tax website i found the Tds Certificate given to me is of less amount and amount credited by the deductor is more and now i have to revised my return on A.y 2009-10 claiming more refund.

Please Send me whether i can do this or not and what is the procedure for it.

08 July 2010 Is there change only in Tds amount and no change in the income booked.if only tds is to be revised then get the new tds certificates and file the revised return

08 July 2010 Tax credit in income tax assessments will only b allowed on the basis of tax credit statement of NSDL. If the TDS in that statement of NSDL is more then one can claim the same...

So, according to me, you should revise the return as per tax credit statement of NSDL..

09 July 2010 As all have answered, u can revise the return.
Just wanted to add proceedure for the same.
In the same ITR form u just need to tick "revised" instead of "original" and give details of original return filed.

Also,need to tell u that a Belated return cannot be revised, so make sure ur original return was not a belated return.
