My friend wants to have a COP as well as he will be having his salary simultaneously. He has been offered this by his current practising CA as his audit limits are over. So, whether my friend can take COP as well as salary from company. His boss told that for 2 months (till the report signing date), no problem will be there if he does it simultaneously...

I dont think you can do it.
Its totally against the Code of Ethics of the institute, even if a single person complains against it then it can be a big problem.
Code says that a CA can either be in practice or can be in employemnt.
If he takes Part time COP then he cannot perform attest functions.
