13 June 2011 hi this is kumar gaurav register my self as the above mention name but now i would like to change the name as gaurav kumar gupta so kindly help me and tell me what are the procedure of changing the name in ca institute

13 June 2011 You have to get one affidavit executed before the 1st Class Magistrate regarding change in your name. This procedure is to be done through an advocate. After the affidavit you have to publish the same in 2 or 3 news papers regarding change of your name. Both i.e copy of affidavit and news paper cutting is to be sent to the Institute along with an application for change of your name. Wait for any other document if the ICAI asks you to submit. This procedure may take some time depending upon your response and completing the formalities. Till your name is changed you cannot use the new name. In case you do so you may be penalised for professional misconduct as you have not qualified as CA in your new name.
