Steps to Get Refund Cheque Reissued: Login to Income Tax e-Filing portal. Go to “My Account” > “Refund Reissue Request.” Submit a request for refund reissue, select the mode as ECS (Electronic Clearing System), and enter the correct bank account details. Upload any supporting documents if required (like canceled cheque). Submit the request. Timeline for Reissue: Normally, the refund reissue process takes about 3 to 6 weeks after submission of the request. The exact time depends on the Income Tax Department’s processing speed and your jurisdiction. Additional Tips: Since you have 3 cheques — 2 with wrong account numbers and 1 correct — you should ideally submit reissue requests for the two incorrect ones separately. The cheque with the right account number should be fine to encash or deposit as usual. If you have lost the cheque or it’s already expired, you must return those cheques (if requested) or inform the department via the e-filing portal.
