Rectification without submission of ITR-V

17 February 2011 Dear All
I had filed an Online Income Tax Return on 29.01.2011 for AY 2010-11 and download ITR-V, but after that I notice that I made some mistake in the information given on return.Still I did not send the ITR-V to Bangalore address.

Can I File the Return again after rectifying the mistake and whether the return filed earlier will rejected automatically if I do not send the ITR-V?

Plz help its urgent.

17 February 2011 No you can not file revised return u/s 139(5) as you have file your return u/s 139(4) i.e. belated return.
Belated return can not be revised.

17 February 2011 But Sir the return process will not complete untill I send the ITR-V to banglore

17 February 2011 Date of filling of ITR-V extended to 31st July, 2011 relating to income tax returns for A.Y 2010 - 2011 filed electronically on or after 1st April 2010. So how much time u will wait?

Better option i think would be to file manually then.
