Assessee(Individual) filed a return u/s 139(4) for A.Y 2011-12 but forgot to claim deduction under 80C in Return and put up tax amount in return manually without calculating tax in the return.Later on received a demand notice from I.T Department.what are the remedy available with him?Can he file rectification u/s 154?

section 154 is mistake apparent from record of income tax authority. it is assessees fault that not claim 80 c deduction
