17 September 2009 My query with regard to DIN for a citizen of India settled abroad.

A was a citizen of India, settled abroad.

Please confirm the following documents can be obtained from A
for the purpose of generating DIN online.

1. Copy of Passport - Mandatory.
2. Copy of Proof of Address - For list of documents, I shall go as per DIN application.

what other documents are to be obtained from A.

For DIN approval, we need ID proof and Address proof of the Applicant and the same will be notarised in his home country (foreign Country).

In your case, you can ask him to provide:

1. Duly notarised passport,
2. Duly notarised Driving License
3. Duly notarised Telephone Bill
4. Duly notarised Electricity Bill
